The Charity has established a Centre for African People and undertakes projects tackling Training and Employment, Housing and Welfare, Education, Health, Childcare and Elderly Issues. The ACCR is unique in dealing with these concerns of a health and social nature that particularly affect or concern African people living in the West Midlands.

The Charity works in partnership with relevant statutory and non-statutory bodies to maintain a strong network of voluntary and ethnic organisations. The ACCR works on a non-political, non-religious and non-partisan basis and has established links with Embassies and High Commissions both in the UK and abroad.
