Ziba-Ufa Project

African history is the oldest history of humans in the world and spans millions of years. This history covers centuries of development as well as many rich and diverse cultures. The Bicentennial of the Abolition of the Slave Trade in 2007 provided an opportunity to consider a part of this immense history.

This project focuses on the African Holocaust (the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade) from 1619 to 1807 and considers the legacy of slavery in our lives today as well as the contributions of Africans and people of African descent of the world and Britain.

The African Holocaust spans more than 400 years, but is a small part of a longer history and in order to place this specific period of history within a timeline of African history, other topics have also been explored.

DEDICATION
In memory of all the African men, women and children who were enslaved and for all their descendants in teh African Diaspora.
